ARCHIVE | Fenerbahce vs Conegliano | Full Match | CEV Champions League 2019. CEV Champions League 2019 delivered an incredible semifinal showdown as Imoco Volley Conegliano faced Fenerbahçe Opet Istanbul in Game 2 of the semifinals in the 2018-19 season.
After winning the first leg in Italy with a dominant 3–0 performance, Conegliano traveled to Istanbul on April 9, 2019, determined to finish the job and secure their historic spot in the Super Final. And they did exactly that.
Conegliano defeated Fenerbahçe once again in straight sets, winning 3–0 (25-18, 25-22, 28-26) in a high-intensity battle on Turkish soil. The Italian side showed incredible composure, tactical discipline, and attacking efficiency from start to finish.
Samanta Fabris was once again the key player for Conegliano, leading the team with 17 points and delivering crucial attacks in the most important moments, especially in the tight third set. Anna Danesi dominated at the net with six massive blocks, shutting down Fenerbahçe’s offense and giving Conegliano full control in transition play.
Fenerbahçe fought hard in front of their home crowd, particularly in the dramatic third set where they pushed the match to extra points, but they couldn’t convert the pressure into a set win. Samantha Bricio led the Turkish side with 15 points, while Eda Erdem Dündar contributed with her leadership and blocking presence in the middle. Despite their effort, consistency was on Conegliano’s side throughout the entire match.
With two straight 3–0 victories in the semifinal series, Conegliano advanced to the Super Final in Berlin, marking a historic achievement for the club. They later faced Igor Gorgonzola Novara in an all-Italian Champions League Final.
This match perfectly showcased Conegliano’s dominant system, powerful offense, disciplined blocking, and mental strength under pressure. A true semifinal masterclass in the CEV Women’s Champions League 2019.
