Vero Volley Milano vs Eczacıbaşı Istanbul | Full Match | CEV Champions League Volley 2026. A five-set thriller with a place in the quarterfinals on the line! Eczacıbaşı Istanbul defeated Numia Vero Volley Milano 3–2 (20–25, 25–18, 25–16, 21–25, 15–13) at the Allianz Cloud in Milan on February 4, 2026, in the final Pool C match of the CEV ZEREN Group Women’s Champions League. After two hours and two minutes of intense volleyball, the Turkish side celebrated a dramatic victory and direct qualification for the quarterfinals.
Milano struck first, winning the opening set 25–20, but Eczacıbaşı responded with force. Led by Ebrar Karakurt and Magdalena Stysiak, the visitors raised their level in attack, blocking and defence to take the next two sets 25–18 and 25–16. With their European ambitions under pressure, Milano fought back through captain Paola Egonu, claiming the fourth set 25–21 and sending the showdown into a decisive tie-break.
Then came the most dramatic moment of the night! Milano raced into a 6–1 lead in the fifth set and remained ahead 8–5 at the change of ends. But Eczacıbaşı refused to give up. The visitors erased the deficit, turned the match around and completed an incredible comeback, with Karakurt delivering the final point to seal the tie-break 15–13!
Paola Egonu led all scorers with 22 points, including 19 successful attacks and three blocks. Ebrar Karakurt and Magdalena Stysiak each delivered 21 points for Eczacıbaşı, with Karakurt earning the MVP award after recording 16 successful attacks, three blocks and two aces. Rebecca Piva added 18 points for Milano, Khalia Lanier scored 15, and Anna Danesi contributed 11, including four blocks and two aces.
Eczacıbaşı also received valuable contributions from Sinead Jack-Kısal and Yaprak Erkek, who scored 10 points each, while Dana Rettke added nine and Kathryn Plummer finished with five. The visitors produced six aces to Milano’s two and finished with a 46% attacking success rate compared with Milano’s 43%. The Italian team held a narrow 12–11 advantage in blocks, but it was not enough to secure the victory.
The result completed Eczacıbaşı’s pair of five-set wins over Milano in the group stage and secured first place in Pool C. Milano finished second and advanced to the playoff round against Olympiacos Piraeus, while Eczacıbaşı moved directly into the quarterfinals.
