Quarterback Joe Burrow led the way with a strong performance, completing 23 of 32 passes for 190 yards and four touchdowns. Rather than relying on one primary target, Burrow spread the ball around, throwing scoring passes to tight end Mike Gesicki, running back Samaje Perine, tight end Tanner Hudson, and star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
Chase delivered the game’s most spectacular moment late in the third quarter. He hauled in a remarkable 45-yard touchdown pass from Burrow, making an acrobatic, one-handed catch in the end zone to extend Cincinnati’s lead to 28–10. Chase finished with six receptions for 77 yards, reminding everyone why he remains one of the NFL’s most dangerous playmakers.
Cincinnati’s defense also played a crucial role. Safety Jordan Battle intercepted Miami quarterback Malik Willis twice in the second quarter, helping the Bengals seize control of the game. Those turnovers proved especially important as the Dolphins struggled to establish consistent passing offense.
However, the Bengals nearly let their comfortable lead slip away. Miami rallied behind its running game and Willis’s mobility, scoring twice in the fourth quarter to make the contest a one-score game. Cincinnati ultimately sealed the victory after recovering the Dolphins’ failed onside kick attempt.
The win was encouraging, but it also exposed areas Cincinnati must improve. Miami accumulated 217 rushing yards, demonstrating that the Bengals still have work to do defensively.
Ultimately, Cincinnati made the plays that mattered most. Burrow’s four touchdown passes, Chase’s spectacular reception, and Battle’s interceptions helped secure a valuable road victory. The Bengals can now use their bye week to regroup before facing the Baltimore Ravens in a pivotal AFC North matchup.
