How to Hit a Draw or a Fade: The Real Secret Is in Your Trail Hand | Titleist

Learn how to hit a draw or fade in golf with Dave Phillips, Top-100 Golf Instructor and co-founder of the Titleist Performance Institute. In this golf instruction video, Phillips demonstrates how different trail-hand feels influence clubface control and shot shape while maintaining the same stance and ball position.

Use a karate-chop feel to practice a high fade and a palm-down, topspin-forehand feel to practice a low draw. Then, to reinforce these different feels, perform a drill with nine golf balls. Hit three shots that curve right-to-left. Then hit three shots that curve left-to-right. And finally, hit three straight shots where you feel like your trail palm is perfectly square to your target through impact. Ingraining these feels will greatly improve your ability to shape golf shots.
