Most swimmers enter the water thumb-first, which instantly ruins their setup. If you want to build a powerful catch, focus on these three steps:
The Entry: Enter the water with your middle and ring finger first, directly in front of your shoulder.
The Extension: Reach straight forward on that line while keeping your head perfectly still, looking down at the bottom of the pool.
The Catch: Drive your fingertips straight toward the bottom to lock in your Early Vertical Forearm (EVF) without splashing.
At our MySwimPro retreats, we combine epic in-water sessions, dryland training, and technique analysis into the ultimate vacation.
We are already planning our next massive retreat for next year 2027! Stay tuned and keep an eye on myswimpro.com/retreats so you donβt miss the official dates when they drop. βοΈ
