Could the Miami Heat really pull off the unthinkable and land BOTH Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kawhi Leonard in the same blockbuster trade?
In this episode of Miami Heat Talk, I break down a recent Sports Illustrated three-team trade proposal involving the Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Clippers that would completely reshape the NBA landscape.
Under this proposed deal, Miami would receive Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kawhi Leonard, instantly forming one of the most talented and experienced championship cores in basketball. However, the cost would be enormous.
The Milwaukee Bucks would receive Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Nikola Jovic, and multiple future first-round picks from Miami, while the Los Angeles Clippers would receive Andrew Wiggins, Gary Trent Jr., Davion Mitchell, Miami’s 2026 first-round pick, and multiple future pick swaps.
I discuss whether the Heat should be willing to sacrifice so much of their young core and draft capital in exchange for a championship window built around Giannis, Kawhi Leonard, Bam Adebayo, Norman Powell, Kasparas Jakucionis, and the rest of the roster.
Would this make Miami an immediate title favorite?
Would Pat Riley be willing to mortgage the future for a chance at multiple championships?
Or is the asking price simply too high?
