After being held to just two catches for 12 yards in the season opener, Chase looked like himself again in Houston. Joe Burrow found him seven times for 75 yards and two touchdowns, including a spectacular 32-yard score late in the second quarter that gave Cincinnati its first points of the afternoon. Chase added an 18-yard touchdown in the third quarter as the Bengals began to pull away. Burrow finished 20-of-31 for 207 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions despite being sacked five times.

Tee Higgins also played a major role, leading Cincinnati with 95 receiving yards on five catches. Chase Brown provided balance with 80 rushing yards on 20 carries. Evan McPherson supplied six important points, drilling field goals from 51 and 57 yards.

But the story of the afternoon was Cincinnati's defense.

Houston accumulated 374 total yards and C.J. Stroud threw for 353, but the Texans repeatedly stalled when points were available. Houston finished 0-for-4 in the red zone and 0-for-4 on fourth down, failing to score a touchdown despite running 78 offensive plays. CBS Sports

Dexter Lawrence delivered one of the game's biggest plays in the first half, blowing up a fourth-and-inches attempt at the Cincinnati 18. The Bengals' defensive front continued making life difficult for Stroud throughout the afternoon and finished with four sacks. Jonathan Allen contributed a critical fourth-quarter sack before Jordan Battle broke up Houston's ensuing fourth-down attempt. Cincinnati then recorded back-to-back sacks during Houston's final red-zone possession to close out the victory.

The Bengals weren't perfect. Cincinnati committed 12 penalties for 78 yards and allowed five sacks, issues that prevented the offense from finding much consistency. Houston actually outgained Cincinnati 374-267 and recorded 22 first downs to the Bengals' 12.

None of it mattered because Cincinnati consistently won the most important situations.

After allowing only six points in Houston, the Bengals are 2-0 for the second consecutive season and return home in Week 3 to face the Pittsburgh Steelers.
