It wasn’t perfect, and it certainly wasn’t pretty for the entire afternoon, but the Bengals made enough plays in critical moments on offense, while the defense continued to show why it could be one of the biggest strengths of this team.

We start with Dohnte Meyers, who may not have filled up the box score but made several outstanding plays on special teams. From his opening kickoff return to his heads-up play recovering a loose football, Meyers continues to show that he can be trusted as Cincinnati’s returner.

Then we get into the defensive performance, including Dexter Lawrence’s massive fourth-down stop that helped set the tone. The Bengals defensive line continues to impress with its depth and ability to create pressure in waves. Cedric Johnson recorded two sacks, Jonathan Allen got involved, and Cincinnati consistently made life difficult for C.J. Stroud.

Ja’Marr Chase also delivered one of the plays of the season with an incredible 32-yard touchdown catch from Joe Burrow. Evan McPherson continued his outstanding start with multiple long field goals, including a 57-yarder.

But there are still plenty of things Cincinnati needs to clean up.
