STOP Scooping Your Irons If You Want Compression
Scooping your wrists through impact is one of the most common reasons amateur golfers struggle to compress their irons.
If the clubhead is passing your hands before you hit the ball, you’re losing compression, distance, and consistency every single time.
Assuming you have fixed your grip first here is how to fix it:
✅ Shift your pressure into your front foot through impact
✅ Get your hips forward and rotated towards the target
✅ Keep your hands ahead of the clubhead at the moment of contact
The drill is simple. Preset that impact position, then hit small punch shots until the feeling becomes natural.
Once you have it, build it into your full swing.
