Josh Liendo stunned everyone in the Toronto Pan Am Centre on night 1 of the World Cup, athletes and spectators alike. Not only did he win the 100 fly to crown bust Noe Ponti, but he broke Ponti's world record from last year, touching .03 under the old mark in 47.68. Liendo admitted he wasn't expecting to be that fast at this point in the season, especially with a goutee, but being in his home pool with a home crowd seemed to help.
