Taipei vs Thailand | Highlights | AVC Men's Continental Championship 2026. Chinese Taipei and Thailand delivered one of the most dramatic matches of the pool phase at the AVC Men’s Continental Championship 2026 in Fukuoka, Japan. The match was played on September 9, 2026, with first place in Pool C and a place in the quarterfinals at stake.

Thailand completed an incredible comeback to defeat Chinese Taipei 3–2, with set scores of 25–23, 22–25, 23–25, 25–22 and 15–10.

Thailand made the stronger start and narrowly won the opening set 25–23, but Chinese Taipei responded brilliantly. They captured the following two sets 25–22 and 25–23, completely changing the momentum and moving within one set of an important victory.

Trailing 1–2 and with their unbeaten record under serious pressure, Thailand raised their level in the fourth set. Their fast offense, determined defense and important work at the net helped them win 25–22 and force a decisive tie-break.

Thailand remained more composed during the most important moments of the fifth set. They limited their mistakes, controlled the closing stages and converted their opportunities to win the tie-break 15–10. Thailand finished the five-set battle with 110 total points, while Chinese Taipei recorded 105.

This victory allowed Thailand to complete the preliminary phase undefeated with three victories and seven points. They secured first place in Pool C and advanced to the quarterfinals. Chinese Taipei completed the pool phase with one victory, two defeats and four points.

Thailand’s tournament squad included setters Narongrit Janpirom and Boonyarid Wongtorn, liberos Nakharin Inthanu and Pakkapong Kwangnok, opposite hitters Suwit Mahasiriyothin and Napadet Bhinijdee, middle blockers Anuchit Pakdeekaew, Toopadit Phraput, Prasert Pinkaew and Kiadtiphum Ramsin, and outside hitters Chaiwat Thungkham, Anurak Phanram, Thanat Bamrungphakdi and Jakkrit Thanomnoi.

The result was especially important because of the tournament’s major qualification stakes. The continental champion would earn direct qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, while the top three eligible teams would qualify for the 2027 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Cup.

Five close sets, several dramatic momentum changes and Thailand’s remarkable comeback from a 1–2 deficit made this one of the most exciting matches of the AVC Men’s Continental Championship 2026.
