What Cooper Flagg’s AWFUL Night Actually Reveals About the Dallas Mavericks Offense

The Dallas Mavericks lost to the winless Sacramento Kings. The Mavs played without Kyrie Irving, and Cooper Flagg shot just 3-of-19 from the field in one of the worst NBA games of his young career. What went wrong for Cooper Flagg and the Mavs, and do the Dallas Mavericks need another playmaker for nights when Kyrie Irving sits?

Nick Angstadt and Slightly Biased break down the Mavs’ loss to the Kings, the debate over resting Kyrie Irving, and why the lineup around Cooper Flagg had no ball handling or spacing. They discuss Naji Marshall’s return from illness, Max Christie’s hip injury, Marcus Sasser’s defense, and a starting group with Caleb Martin and PJ Washington that struggled to create. They also cover Daniel Gafford’s 20-point night, Walter Clayton Jr.’s strong game off the bench, questions about Morez Johnson Jr.’s athleticism, and what it all means before the Mavs face the San Antonio Spurs.
