RETURN: What Santi Aldama Actually Changes for the Dallas Mavericks Offense

Santi Aldama is nearing his return for the Dallas Mavericks, and the Mavs are getting a legitimate 7-foot stretch 5 who can shoot, pass and put the ball on the floor next to Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving. With five of the Mavs’ top six 3-point shooters stuck between 21% and 31% to start the NBA season, can Aldama’s return fix the Dallas Mavericks’ shooting problem?

Nick Angstadt and Isaac Harris break down what Santi Aldama changes for Dusty May’s lineups, and how his game compares to Daniel Gafford’s. They also look at the 3-point struggles of Cooper Flagg, PJ Washington, Max Christie, Zaccharie Risacher and Naji Marshall, and why Kyrie Irving has been the Mavs’ best shooter. Plus, Morez Johnson Jr. is nearing the end of his minutes restriction, so what does that mean for his rebounding, his defense and the Mavs frontcourt with Dereck Lively II, Caleb Martin, Walter Clayton Jr., Tarik Biberovic and Sergio de Larrea?
