Why You’ll NEVER Hit Pure Irons Until You Fix This
This divot is telling you EVERYTHING you need to know about ball striking.
See how that chunk of turf flies AFTER the ball? That’s not an accident.
The biggest mistake I see amateurs make is trying to help the ball up. They hang back, scoop at it, and their low point ends up BEHIND the ball. Fat shots. Thin shots. Zero consistency.
Great ball strikers do the opposite — they shift the low point of their swing arc 2-4 inches IN FRONT of the ball.
How?
It starts with pressure shift. By the time you reach impact, roughly 80% of your pressure needs to be in your lead foot.
That moves the bottom of your arc forward so the clubhead strikes the ball FIRST, then the turf.
Ball → divot → pure.
That’s the sequence. That’s the secret. That’s what turns your short irons into dart-throwing machines.
Stop trying to lift it. Trust the loft. Shift forward. And let that divot tell the story.
Save this for the range 🔥
