Most golfers have no idea why their punch shots start right. It’s not your swing….
Moving the ball back in your stance means you catch it earlier in your swing arc, before your path fully squares up. You’re hitting it while your path is still more in-to-out, and your face often hasn’t caught up to square either. Both send the ball starting right of target.
The fix isn’t fighting your swing mid-motion. It’s aiming further left at address to offset it before you even start back.
