In today's video, Alex reviews the Dynafish Xiaonian, one of the most talked about shoes among runners in recent months and a shoe that has been generating serious word of mouth.
The headline is the midsole. A smooth rocker geometry and a supremely bouncy, comfortable ride make this one of the easier shoes to cruise in right now, and the overall feel is genuinely pleasing underfoot. It is the kind of midsole that makes you want to keep running.
The upper, however, is where the Xiaonian gives some of that goodwill back. The fit runs a little loose and the heel lockdown is not quite where it needs to be, which is a shame given how strong the foundation of the shoe is. A better upper and this would be a very easy recommendation. As it stands, it is still worth your attention, but with caveats.
