The Japanese men's volleyball team, ranked 6th in the FIVB world rankings (as of the start of the match), faced India, ranked 49th, on Friday, September 11th, and won in straight sets, 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-19), securing their place in the semi-finals.

The first set began with a point from Ran Takahashi, who then went on to score a block and a service ace to take a 4-2 lead. After another break to make it 7-3, India called a timeout. Japan struggled with India's serves and conceded a break due to a block, but Evadedan Larry's block prevented India from gaining momentum. Showing their fighting spirit by winning the rallies, Japan gradually widened the gap. Tatsunori Otsuka scored a no-touch ace, putting Japan in the 20s first, and Japan continued to play steadily, holding set points until Taishi Onodera sealed the victory, winning the first set 2-5-17.

In the second set, India made several mistakes, allowing Japan to take an early lead. A serve from Ran Takahashi led to consecutive breaks, extending Japan's lead to 8-1. India changed their setter and regained their rhythm, gradually narrowing the gap, but Yuji Nishida made a block. A service ace from Onodera made it 17-10, and a jump toss from Tomohiro Ogawa led to a point by Kento Miyaura, making it 19-12. Yuta Kawato, who came in as a double substitution, provided stable setting for points, and a spike from Shoma Tomita made it 25-15, giving Japan the set.

In the third set, Japan made some mistakes and struggled to gain momentum, allowing India to take a 12-13 lead with a block. However, a service ace from Yuki Ishikawa put Japan ahead 15-13, prompting India to call a timeout. After that, Ishikawa's serve led to another break, extending Japan's lead to 19-13. Japan maintained their pace and won the third set 25-19, securing a straight-sets victory with a set score of 3-0.
