During the 2017 world championships legendary sprinter Sarah Sjostrom SMASHED the 100 freestyle world record with a blisteringly fast time of 51.71, to break the record of 52.06 and become the first woman to break 52 seconds. It took 4 years for another swimmer to break 52 seconds and after that we wouldn't see another 51 second swim for 5 more years, until we saw TWO in 48 hours.
