Came in with a goal of 3:10:57, which I thought was very achievable. Finished with a time of 3:39:01. (Should have run 2 seconds faster)
.
I seem to be making a lot of the same mistakes: holding on to pace for a bit too long when my body is telling me otherwise, wearing a bit too much clothes for the weather conditions, focusing too much on a single element of fueling (270g carbs consumed, 0mg salt). I had to do a lot of walk/jogging just to drag myself to the finish. It was tough.
.
I’ve never been all that good at race day execution, but now I seem to be getting worse. Part of me feels like I’m now done with trying to run marathons fast. I don’t know if I have it in me.
.
Part of me is wanting to head back to the drawing board to prepare for the next one.
