Have you ever been told to "flatten out" your forehand when you get an easy midcourt tennis forehand ?
I hear this advice all the time—and it's one of the biggest misconceptions in tennis.
I'm Meike Babel, former WTA World No. 27, and in this video I'll show you why the best players still swing low to high when attacking a midcourt forehand. The difference is that they make the swing more forward and less vertical, not completely flat. Their swing IS NOT LEVEL.
I'll explain the difference between a flatter shot and a flat swing, why so many recreational players dump these forehands into the net, and how you can generate more power while keeping the ball under control.
If you've ever struggled to finish points after getting a short ball, this lesson will help you attack with more confidence, consistency, and topspin.
In this video you'll learn:
• Why "flattening out" your forehand is often misunderstood
• The difference between a flat swing and a flatter shot
• Why you still need a low-to-high swing path on attacking forehands
• How the pros create power without sacrificing control
Whether you're a 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, or 4.5 player, these concepts will help you hit bigger forehands, finish points more effectively, and become a more aggressive player.
