UConn's Miracle Run Was Luck — And Hurley's Clock Management Made It Worse

UConn's late-game clock management was genuinely bad and it almost cost them. Down three with 26 seconds left, they burned 16 seconds on one possession. That's not how you play it. When you're trailing, every possession is precious — you need to get the best shot you can as fast as you can. Running the clock down when you're losing is just giving away possessions you can't afford to lose.⁣

And then Duke, up two with five seconds left after the missed free throw, didn't call timeout to get organized — not realizing there's no ten-second backcourt violation and no five-second rule in the backcourt at that point in the game.⁣
