Why SGA's "Push-Off" on Castle Was NOT an Offensive Foul (Officiating Breakdown)
Basketball
This is exactly why screenshots without context are dangerous.
People are going to see SGA's arm extending and immediately call it a push-off. But what they're missing is that Castle had both feet off the floor when that contact happened. He was already a retreating player. Any armbar contact in that moment is going to make it look like a dislodge when it isn't one.
Coach Nick breaks it down perfectly here. Castle doesn't go flying. He lands right where he was already going and then tries to recover. That's the standard. If there's no dislodge, there's no offensive foul.
There's even Jaylen Brown precedent from a few playoffs back where the L2M report said the exact same thing. The rules and the history back this up. #shorts
