This Hip Slide Mistake Is Killing Your Power
If your hips are sliding towards the target in the backswing, you’re making the downswing nearly impossible to sequence correctly.
This is called a reverse hip slide, and it’s one of the most common power leaks in amateur golf.
When your pressure never loads into your back foot, there’s nothing to push off from on the way down.
✅ Your hips should rotate and load back, not drift forward
✅ Pressure needs to shift into your back foot early in the backswing
✅ From there, the downswing sequences naturally
The step drill in this video trains that exact feeling without overcomplicating it.
You learn to shift your pressure athletically, the same way you would throwing a ball or swinging a bat.
