Russell Westbrook has officially retired from the National Basketball Association after playing 18 seasons in the league. After playing 1301 regular season games & 135 playoff games, Russ has decided he is finished with the NBA. Originally drafted to the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008 with the 4th overall pick, it's hard to say he hasn't had a successful career. As of now, he is 1st all-time in triple-doubles with 209, and led the league in triple-doubles for 6 straight seasons from 2014-15, to 2018-19. A two time all-star game MVP, 2016-27 NBA MVP, 9x All-NBA member, 2x scoring champ, 9x All-Star, 3x assist champion, Russ has accomplished a lot in his time in the NBA.
Trey Kerby poses the question that in some years time, we may look back at Russ as one of the best to ever do it that never won a championship in the NBA.
