Miami QB Carson Beck broke Vinny Testaverde’s school record  completing his 1st 15 passes of the game, the Miami offense scored touchdowns on its 1st 5 drives on its way to a 500+ yard night, the defense dominated all night, and the Hurricanes smashed the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats 45-3 at Hard Rock Stadium to go to 2-0 to start the season.

Beck hit CJ Daniels for a 40-yard TD strike on the Hurricanes’ opening drive.

Mark Fletcher Jr. scored from 16 years out on Miami’s 2nd drive to make it 14-0.

Marty Brown took it in from 5 yards out to make it 21-0 on Miami’s 3rd drive.

The Wildcats came down and kicked a 33-yard field goal to cut the lead to 21-3 Miami.

The ‘Canes scored again to make it 28-3 a beautiful 5-yard yard fade from Beck to Daniels with :38 left in the half.

Miami ended the 1st half scoring TD’s on all 4 drives and only running 1 3rd-down play while they out-gained BC 313-98.

Beck came out to start the 2nd half for Miami, and promptly took the ‘Canes down the field to score on Fletcher’s 2nd TD run- from a yard out- to make it 35-0 and end the night for Miami’s starters.

Girard Pringle Jr. ran it in from 30 yards out on Miami’s 3rd drive of the 2nd half.

Bethune-Cookman drove down the field against Miami’s 2nd-string defense, but true freshman Bryce Fitzgerald picked off Wildcats’ backup QB Cam Ransom in the end zone to end their TD hopes and give the Hurricanes the ball back.

Bert Auburn added a 3–yard field goal to make it 45-3 and close out the scoring.

Beck finished 22-24 for 267 yards and 2 touchdown passes.

Daniels caught 5 balls for 73 yards and the 2 scores. Freshman Malachi Toney continued to shine, grabbing 6 catches for 80 yards.

Fletcher Jr. ran for 86 yards on 11 carries.

By the time it was over, the ‘Canes put up  yards of offense-  on the ground and  through the air.

Miami’ defense dominated as well, allowing just yards while forcing  turnovers. ( rushing,  passing)

The Hurricanes had 2 defensive players get ejected for targeting- Wesley Bissainthe and Jordan Johnson. Both will miss the 1st half of next week’s game against South Florida.
