ORIOLES POSTCAST: Félix Bautista Returns, but Baltimore Orioles Offense Ruins Everything, SWEPT by Milwaukee Brewers

The Orioles have gone 19 straight innings without scoring, and Sunday Night Baseball ended with another frustrating shutout.

Baltimore fell 3-0 to the Milwaukee Brewers and completed a sweep at Camden Yards, wasting a huge outing from Brandon Young. Young battled through six innings of two-run baseball, striking out a career-high nine Brewers, but the Orioles offense could not deliver a single run when it mattered most. The Brewers completed the three-game sweep, while Baltimore’s playoff hopes continue to fade with an elimination number of two and only six regular-season games remaining.

But there was one massive positive: Félix Bautista is back. The Mountain made his first bullpen appearance roughly a year after shoulder surgery. The velocity and command were understandably not all the way there, and he allowed a run in two-thirds of an inning—but that barely matters tonight. Bautista being back on a major-league mound is a huge moment for the Orioles.

And then there was the sixth inning.

Gunnar Henderson gets hit, Coby Mayo and Samuel Basallo walk, and Milwaukee pitcher Chad Patrick throws nine consecutive balls with two wild pitches. Bases loaded. Two outs. Down two. After all that, Jeremiah Jackson swings at the first pitch and rolls over to first base to end the inning. That cannot happen.
