Founded by Taylor Duncan (a person on the autism spectrum), Alternative Baseball provides the authentic baseball experience for teens and adults (ages 15+) with autism and other disabilities for physical and social skills enrichment in life on and off the baseball diamond. With teams starting back from COVID-19 across the United States of America, the organization aims to destroy the negative limitation perception of what one with a disability can and cannot accomplish. Alternative Baseball plays by the traditional baseball rule-set; different from other disability baseball programs in which there are no "buddies." Everyone plays the field independently and with wood bats resembling those seen on television. Alternative Baseball has been highlighted on national outlets including the Los Angeles Times, NBC's Weekday TODAY, ESPN BASEBALL TONIGHT, Sports Illustrated, and CNN/HLN.
