Duct Tape Chronicles: Stamkos to Vancouver? + Kampf's Role + Sherwood's Future | Locked On Canucks

Canucks in a Funk + Marek Says They Want Stamkos — Is This True or Just Desperation?

Vancouver’s been limping through a rough stretch, and fans are starting to wonder: is this a real rebuild or just bad luck? On top of the injury issues and uneven play, a major rumor is back — Jeff Marek floated the idea that the Canucks could be interested in Steven Stamkos, a move that’s raising eyebrows.

In this episode of Locked On Canucks, we unpack:

Why Vancouver’s struggles aren’t just about form — there’s a deeper issue with depth, leadership, and injuries.

What Marek actually said: he called Stamkos “a possible fit” if Nashville gives up on him.

The risks: Stamkos is aging, his production has dipped, and he’s signed to a pricey deal with a full no-move clause.

Does Vancouver need him, or is this just a band-aid move? Can the Canucks really trust a 35-year-old to fix their second-line center problem?

Plus, what the “curse” theory is starting to look like — injuries, bad contracts, and now risky trade chatter.
