VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 2 DETROIT RED WINGS 1 (11-5-2, 24 PTS)

Recap: The Golden Knights were hoping to pick up another couple of points on their four-game road trip. Both teams traded chances in the opening period, but neither team could find the back of the net. The 2nd period was also quiet offensively, and the game remained scoreless through 40 minutes.

Detroit opened the scoring quickly into the final frame. Braeden Bowman evened the score minutes later with his 4th goal of the season. Late in the game, rookie Trevor Connelly broke the tie with his 7th goal of the season and his third straight game with a goal.

The Golden Knights’ record improves to 11-5-2, defeating the Red Wings 2-1 in Detroit. Next up, Vegas will wrap up their road trip on Sunday afternoon in Buffalo. Puck drop against the Sabres is scheduled for 12:30 PM. (Recap by Jason)

Analysis: Kind of a sloppy game as both teams had a hard time getting puck to settle down enough to score goals. However, when the chances came, both goalies were excellent. As he has in the first two games of this road trip, Trevor Connelly came through as the hero with another 3rd period goal, his third on the trip. Not sure where VGK would be without him this year.
