GUTSY: Tarasov shut the Jets down in the shootout. Maurice's first win in WPG as HC of the Panthers

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) for another edition of Fairbanks Friday, as the two recappe the Panthers 2-1 shootout win over the Winnipeg Jets. A low event hockey game where neither team had 20 shots through 60 minutes and only one goal each to show for, needed more than 60 to determine. After an exciting OT period, the Panthers found a way to win in the shootout easily, scoring twice on Connor Hellebuyck while Tarasov slammed the door to give the Cats the two points. The third line gave the Panthers the most opportunities with their speed up the middle for their scoring opportunities, while they and multiple lines kept Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor in check, only surrendering two shots from both of them combined. Matthew Tkachuk got his first point since returning to the Panthers, assisting on Sam Bennett's 18th goal of the season. Although the Panthers surrendered the lead in the third, and the ice was tilted in Winnipeg's direction, they never wavered, as it was Anton Lundell and Sam Reinhart who took care of business in the shootout.
