Coach Taja "Taj" Edwards shares her journey from growing up in Long Beach to becoming an Assistant Coach at the NCAA Division I level for over a decade, coaching in the NBA & WNBA, and now a Senior Account Executive for Just Play Sports Solutions.
After a stellar high school career at Long Beach Poly she took her talents to Fresno State where she led them to the NCAA Tournament in each of her four seasons - and has the second most wins in a four year span.
She embarked on a career in coaching when she accepted a support staff position at Ole Miss and was quickly thrusted into an Assistant Coach role within the first three months.
Coach Edwards spent time coaching at Cal State Fullerton, USC, Dartmouth and Loyola Marymount before ascending to the professional ranks. She joined the Charlotte Hornets franchise for a season and then spent time in the WNBA with the Phoenix Mercury and Indiana Fever before returning to the college ranks with TCU in 2022.
Recently Coach Williams pivoted to a position with Just Play Sports Solutions where she is still able to remain involved with basketball and helping coaches.
