REWARDED: Sam Bennett will play for Team Canada in the Winter Olympics!

On today's edition of the Locked On Florida Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Winans(@JakeW_8) for another edition of Winans Wednesday. The two discuss the announcement of Sam Bennett being named to Team Canada for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina, replacing Lighting Center Anthony Cirelli. The announcement also indicates how Bennett's injury that he suffered on Monday against Buffalo is something that will be of short term as the Panthers continue to navigate an extremely difficult season on the injury front. Head Coach Paul Maurice spoke to the media today and discussed how the group can become better with the adversity they are going through, and how this can continue to build a teams character, the guys discuss their takes on what Maurce had to say. It's also new territory for certain players where all they know is winning hockey during their Panthers tenure, so could a season like 2026 be good for those young players? Lastly, the Panthers welcome the Bruins to town in what could be a fun sweater matchup as the Panthers will wear their winter classic apparel while Boston will likely wear theirs from the most recent stadium series back on Sunday, the Bruins are hot, but it's a chance for the Panthers to show that they won't lay down against anyone as Boston has been able to rebound after an off year in 2025.
