Cash That Ticket - Wednesday August 5th

Munaf Manji talks betting for Wednesday.
Munaf Manji goes solo on Cash That Ticket, part of the Straight Out of Vegas AM feed, to break down the Wednesday, August 5, 2026 Major League Baseball card, with Uncle Dave off for a personal day and set to rejoin him Wednesday night to record an early Thursday episode covering the day games and Uncle Dave's New England Patriots win total. Manji opens with a recap of Tuesday's one and one showing, noting that Uncle Dave's Giants Rangers over cashed late thanks to a bullpen collapse in Texas, while his own first-five under in the Athletics Reds game looked safe through four innings before Cincinnati scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to bust the total, a beat he still calls a right read that he would make again. He then walks through the standings across baseball, covering the Rays leading the Yankees by three and a half games in the American League East, the White Sox up three on the Guardians in the Central, and the Astros ahead of the Rangers by two and a half in the West, along with Atlanta's seven and a half game lead in the National League East, the Brewers holding five and a half on the Cubs in the Central, and a Dodgers club whose National League West lead has shrunk to nine games over the Diamondbacks after five straight losses. He spends extra time on the Nationals, who have dropped seven in a row and just lost Luis Garcia Jr. in a trade to the Yankees, where he homered in his debut, along with James Wood to a ten day injured list stint, even though Washington still leads all of baseball in runs scored this season. From there Manji previews five games, starting with Reid Detmers and the Angels facing Trevor Rogers and the Orioles in a matchup dealing with rain concerns, where he leans toward the under despite liking both starting pitchers underlying numbers. He then covers Jake Irvin and the Nationals against a struggling Andrew Painter and the Phillies, targeting the Philadelphia team total given Irvin's rough history against this opponent and Washington's thinned out lineup. The headline preview covers Christian Scott and the Mets visiting Tanner Bibee and the Guardians in a rematch after New York's win the previous night, a game Manji calls close to a coin flip while favoring the first five under given the form both pitchers are showing. He also breaks down Sean Burke and the White Sox against Sonny Gray and a red hot Red Sox club at Fenway Park, calling the short Boston price a potential trap and leaning toward the under behind Burke's recent form, and closes the game previews with Paul Skenes and the Pirates against Kyle Harrison, activated off the injured list for the Brewers, a spot where Manji says he cannot back Pittsburgh given how rough Skenes has looked in his last two starts. Before wrapping up, he runs through the games most likely to be affected by weather Wednesday, including the early Dodgers Cubs game, Angels Orioles, Nationals Phillies, the Marlins Braves matchup in Atlanta, and Twins Royals in Minnesota. He also details pregame dot com's First Friday Bulk Dollar Bonanza, a monthly promotion returning to mark the start of NFL preseason that turns twenty dollars into one hundred bulk dollars, a four hundred percent bonus that can be applied toward any picks package and never expires, with the current offer capped at one redemption per person and set to expire Monday, August 10th at midnight. Manji closes with his featured best bet of the day, the full game under 8 in Mets Guardians, a number he shopped across FanDuel, Circa, Caesars, BetMGM, and South Point before settling on FanDuel's price, built around both starting pitchers reaching the sixth inning and handing the game to bullpens he trusts to keep the total down, with a first five under as an alternative angle for bettors who want to take the bullpens out of the equation entirely.
