JB Bickerstaff Reveals Bigger Role for Ausar Thompson, Praises Ebuka Okorie

Detroit Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff has high expectations for Ausar Thompson and rookie Ebuka Okorie heading into the 2026-27 NBA season.

On today's episode of Pistons Talk, we react to Bickerstaff's latest comments about expanding Ausar Thompson's offensive responsibilities, putting the basketball in his hands more frequently, and allowing him to develop as a playmaker alongside Cade Cunningham. Could Ausar's increased role help address Detroit's need for additional offensive creation?

Bickerstaff also offered high praise for rookie Ebuka Okorie, highlighting his basketball IQ, finishing ability, and veteran-like understanding of the game. We discuss Okorie's impressive preseason moments and whether he could earn meaningful minutes in Detroit's rotation.
