Why did Tottenham lose so convincingly to Brentford? A Licence Coach JJ says the scoreline actually flatters Spurs.
Post-match tactical debrief with JJ (The Full Co). Kinsky's parry frame by frame — the lower-hand buckle that turned a save into a goal. Van Hecke's Spurs debut against a dynamic Brentford front line — the discipline still to learn as Romero's replacement. Bergvall's pressing problem — no triggers, no cover, and the warning sign JJ spotted at Brentford's second goal.
Plus: why Sean Robertson wasn't meant to be the starting left back, the wide-vs-central-players disconnect that left the whole team disjointed, and whether the returning Van de Ven, Fernandes, Savinho and Marmoush actually fix any of this. JJ says it's deeper than personnel.
And the optimistic close: why this humbling might be exactly the reset Spurs needed, and Roberto De Zerbi's "soul of the football club" callback.
Considered, nuanced, tactically honest. A Coach's View.
