Steelers Look Soft, Beaten, Bullied in 20-3 Loss to Patriots | Mike McCarthy Left Team Unprepared?

The Pittsburgh Steelers were mollywhopped by the New England Patriots 20-3, where Mike McCarthy's team looked unprepared, soft, beaten and bullied. Christopher Carter gives his reaction to the game, and what part of McCarthy's plan for the season cost the Steelers in this lost the most. Physicality was an element of training camp Chris saw was missing all summer, and that carried over into the preseason when the Steelers didn't work on their rushing offense nearly enough. That showed when the Steelers couldn't run the ball against the Patriots, and then allowed Mike Vrabel's defense to tee off on Aaron Rodgers with four sacks, a defensive touchdown, and complete domination of the Steelers' offense. Could this have been avoided?

Chris also addresses how McCarthy can fix those problems, with a stronger dedication from the Steelers to being a more physical team in how they run the ball and charge the offensive line to be the tough unit it was drafted and developed to be in recent years. Another, is to target the players who will deliver better than DK Metcalf's drops, like Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington. Meanwhile the defense does look like a strong unit that can create turnovers, like it did when Patrick Queen intercepted Drake Maye.
