Ep. 29: Rachel Balkovec- 1st Female Manager in Affiliated Professional Baseball As She Gets Named Manager for the Yankees Low-A Team, First Meeting Since Lockout Discouraging for Players, & More

Welcome to the Inside Heater podcast! Two baseball fans-Sutton and Elijah- are embarking on the journey of bringing you up to speed on baseball news, takes and series recaps. Our goal is to stay family-friendly (as much as possible) to connect generations and grow the game that we both love. On this episode, we extend our congratulations to Rachel Balkovec- the first ever female manager in professional affiliate baseball as she gets named manager for the low-A Tampa Tarpons in the New York Yankees organization. We talk about the discouraging news about the first meeting between MLB and the Players Union since the lockout was instituted by the owners on Dec. 2. We discuss the Mets hiring of Buck Showalter and how it will help their ballclub. We also discuss the retirements of Kyle Seager, Cameron Maybin, and Travis Snider. Whether it is good morning, good afternoon, or goodnight whenever you are listening, we thank you for tuning in.
