Episode Notes

Listen in as I catch up with two close friends, and two former D.C. United Academy products, Peabo Doue and Barth Mouafo.  We discuss the recruiting process as they remember it, how the D.C. United Academy and opportunities for young players have evolved since they were getting recruited, and what a professional soccer environment looks like.

Peabo Doue is originally from Takoma Park, Maryland and played in the D.C. United Academy.  He attended West Virginia University before going on to a seven year career as a professional soccer player.  Peabo played professionally for Phoenix FC, Oklahoma City Energy, Wilmington Hammerheads, Jacksonville Armada, North Carolina FC, and Loudoun United, before retiring in 2020.

Barth-Luther Mouafo was born in Douala, Cameroon before relocating to the DMV.  He played in the D.C. United Academy before attending Montverde Academy in Florida.  Barth played college soccer at Gardner Webb and The University of Akron.  He currently works in the D.C. United Academy as a Staff Coach with the U16 and U17 teams.
