'A Good Day Out': An Interview with Wales National County's Matty Ryan and Tegid Phillips (Episode 176)

In this episode of the podcast we feature an interview with Tegid Phillips and Matty Ryan about their record-breaking partnership for Wales National County against Cheshire. 

They discuss their club cricket backgrounds, with Matty playing for St. Asaph and Tegid for Cardiff, and their experiences in three-day cricket. 

The pair detail their approach to the innings, focusing on occupation of the crease and application, which led to a partnership of 380 runs. Matty scored 241, becoming the first Welsh National County player to score a double century, while Tegid made 155 not out. 

They reflect on the physical and mental demands of the long innings and the significance of the achievement, which included setting a new National Counties record. 

The interview concludes with them sharing their plans for the off-season.
