LINEUP UPGRADE: Where Dylan Larkin TRANSFORMS the Capitals’ Top Six and Center Depth

Washington Capitals weigh a blockbuster move: Is Dylan Larkin the answer at center? Major trade rumors swirl as Detroit’s high asking price forces tough choices for the Caps’ front office.

Host Dan Holmi assesses Larkin’s potential impact on the Capitals’ lineup, exploring how his arrival could transform combinations with Alex Tuch, Jordan Kyrou, and Pierre-Luc Dubois. The conversation explores the cost of acquiring Larkin, Detroit’s rumored demand for Dylan Strome, top prospects like Andrew Cristall and Ivan Miroshnichenko, and a first-round pick. Would parting with key young talent—or established players like Alexei Protas—mortgage the future for an immediate upgrade? Holmi breaks down Washington’s trade assets, the importance of roster depth, and the financial realities of Larkin’s $8.7M cap hit through 2031.

Are the Capitals ready to make a bold move, or is patience the smarter play as the team chases playoff relevance in the Metropolitan Division?
