411. Amed 3-2 Beşiktaş | THE BLACK EAGLES FALL IN DİYARBAKIR!

Beşiktaş suffer a painful 3-2 defeat away to Amedspor in their final match before the September international break, missing a huge opportunity to move to the top of the Süper Lig table.

After Galatasaray were beaten 4-0 by Trabzonspor, Beşiktaş knew exactly what they needed to do: win in Diyarbakır and take control of the title race. But Amedspor had other ideas.

Besnik Hasi's side have been one of the revelations of the season so far, winning all three of their previous home matches — including a 2-1 victory over Trabzonspor — and they produced another huge performance against the Black Eagles.

⚽ THE MATCH

Amedspor took the lead in the 13th minute when Gift Orban unleashed a ferocious long-range strike past Alexander Nübel.

Beşiktaş continued to dominate possession and search for an equalizer, but Amed doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute through Dia Saba, who also found the net from distance.

Then came one of the biggest talking points of the match.

In the 35th minute, Dusan Vlahovic appeared to be brought down inside the box by David Bates, but referee Ali Şansalan awarded a foul against the Beşiktaş striker instead of a penalty. Following the match, the experts on beIN SPORTS Trio unanimously agreed that Beşiktaş should have received a penalty and that Bates should have been shown a red card.

Could that decision have changed the entire match?

Beşiktaş came out strongly in the second half and Vlahovic pulled one back in the 55th minute, giving the Black Eagles hope of completing the comeback.

However, a disastrous mix-up between Alexander Nübel and Salih Özcan allowed Furkan Soyalp to steal the ball and lob it over Nübel for Amedspor's third goal.

Beşiktaş refused to give up and continued pushing until the final seconds. Following a VAR review for handball, Orkun Kökçü converted a penalty in the 98th minute to make it 3-2.

And then came one final chance...

Amedspor goalkeeper Alphonse Areola? — Lafont — produced an excellent save moments later to deny Beşiktaş the equalizer and secure a massive victory for the Süper Lig newcomers.

📉 A PAINFUL DEFEAT FOR BEŞİKTAŞ

The Black Eagles now head into the international break with a disappointing defeat and miss the opportunity to take over at the top of the Süper Lig.

It is also Beşiktaş's second defeat of the season, with both losses featuring major refereeing controversies. The earlier defeat against Alanyaspor also included the disallowed Oh Hyeon-Gyu goal and the failure to send off Alanyaspor defender Ajiti following an incident involving Leandro Trossard.

Despite the result, there were positives. Beşiktaş continued fighting until the final whistle, dominated possession for long periods and created enough pressure to give themselves a chance of rescuing a point.

But individual errors, defensive mistakes and another controversial refereeing decision ultimately proved costly.
