A most welcome 3 points as City secured a deserved win at the Valley. It also meant Roy Hodgson, at the start of his second spell in charge secured a first win in 44 years, 1 month and 4 days.
There were some solid performances in most areas of the pitch but an early chance squandered by Riis and Armstrong's two late failings showed where City need to improve next season.
Hodgson drawing all the media attention away from the owners won't last too long and all eyes will be on them to hire the Sporting Director & Head Coach sooner rather than later and who fills those roles will either signal more mediocrity or a genuine change in approach from the owner.
