Texas vs Mississippi State Preview: Can the Horns Avoid a Letdown on Halloween Night? + Score Predictions

Halloween night under the lights at DKR. Texas hosts Mississippi State on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN, and the Bulldogs just lost QB Kamario Taylor. That means Billy Pucket or AJ Swann has to walk into a sold-out stadium against a Will Muschamp defense the whole nation is talking about.

Alex Okafor, Derrick Johnson, Rod Babers, Fozzy Whittaker, Jeremy Hills, Mark Higgins and Nick Shuley to break down everything on the 40:

• Can Texas avoid the letdown against a Mississippi State team on a three-game skid?
• Life after Goosby: Andre Cojoe steps up on the O-line
• Can Raleek Brown repeat against a run defense giving up almost 200 yards a game?
• Should the young backs get the carries, or does this team still need to prove it can play four quarters?
• Stopping Fluff Bothwell and earning the right to rush the passer
• Special teams and key stats
• Fun fact: Texas has never played a home game on Halloween
• The crew’s all-time best Halloween costumes (Usher, Goku, and a Pop-Tart)
• Score predictions from the entire panel

Texas leads the all-time series 4-2. Last year in Starkville, the Horns won 45-38 in overtime.
