UPL and Mattias Samuelsson COULD RETURN for Buffalo Sabres opening night

The Buffalo Sabres are two days away from opening their regular season against the Columbus Blue Jackets and some of the big injury questions are being answered. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was at practice in the starters net, so it seems likely that he is good to go for the start of the year. Even Alex Lyon is just days away from making the Sabres goalie room totally healthy. Mattias Samuelsson meanwhile skated on his own on Tuesday and Lindy Ruff sounded like he is getting really close. However, Conor Timmins could be awhile. We break down all the different blueline combinations we could have for the Sabres on Thursday and Saturday.

Plus, new lines at practice features Josh Norris being bumped up to the top line and on the wing. Ryan McLeod gets moved back to center and the Noah Östlund line stays together. Plus, Lindy doesn't sound very complimentary of Konsta Helenius.
