DEBATE: The 2026 Red Sox AWARDS: MVP, Biggest Surprise, Biggest Disappointment & MORE

Boston Red Sox fans get a season recap filled with surprises, triumphs, and hard truths as Willson Contreras earns MVP honors for his monster stats and off-field leadership. Gabby Maljanian spotlights breakthrough star Payton Tolle, the durable Wilyer Abreu, and dubs Jarren Duran the year's biggest disappointment after a frustrating performance. Is Caleb Durbin the answer at third base? Plus, the “What Could Have Been” award punctuates Roman Anthony’s injury-marred campaign, while Chad Tracy receives a long-overdue apology for steering the club from manager chaos to a dramatic playoff push.

Key moments include the firing of Alex Cora, a franchise-best 32-5 run, and a gut-wrenching ending to the Wild Card series. Maljanian highlights Sonny Gray’s ace performance and casts intrigue on Curtis Mead’s potential impact for 2027. Can Boston’s grit and resilience carry over, or are major roster moves still needed for a true title bid?
