Karl Dewazien played and coached at Fresno Pacific University before becoming California Youth Soccer's Director of Coaching in 1978 — a role he held for 33 years. He has a passion for setting up youth soccer so kids have fun and learn to love the game, and was a driving force behind the framework of small-sided games, buildout lines, and several of the modified rules we use to teach kids soccer today. He wrote a book on age-appropriate youth soccer: FUNdamental Soccer. He still blogs regularly on FundamentalSoccer.com
