Sincaraz out of Cincinnati, Sabalenka's struggles continue + Swiatek back on track?

Chaos in Canada! We’re at the halfway stage of the Canada Masters and, despite the lack of star power, it’s already thrown up plenty of unexpected stories. On the women’s side, we discuss Aryna Sabalenka’s latest three-set defeat and ask just how worrying her form is heading into the US Open. Is the pressure starting to get to the world No.1, who hasn’t won a title since Miami and is now clinging to the top spot by a thread? There’s also a resurgent Iga Swiatek and we get very excited about the first-ever meeting between Naomi Osaka and Elena Rybakina — genuinely, how has it taken this long?

On the men’s side, we discuss Jack Draper’s emotional return to the tour and the awkward question of whether he came back too soon. And after all the talk of a ‘new’ Zverev, can we really put him in the same conversation as Sinner and Alcaraz after losing his first match back since Wimbledon? Speaking of Sinner and Alcaraz, we look at their injury troubles ahead of Cincinnati, ask whether two-week Masters events should be mandatory combined events given how barren the schedules have been in Toronto and Montreal, and get stuck into Novak Djokovic’s radical idea for changing the scoring system.
