NEW-LOOK NETS IMPRESS! Randle & MPJ Click + Is This the New Egor Dëmin?

The new-look Brooklyn Nets have officially taken the floor — and there was a LOT to like.

Brooklyn opened the preseason with a dominant 124–90 win over the Charlotte Hornets, and on this episode of Battered Nets Fans, we're breaking down our first real look at the 2026–27 Nets.

How did Jordi Fernández's new starting lineup look? Is Egor Dëmin becoming the more aggressive offensive player Nets fans have been waiting for? And most importantly, what did we learn from our first look at Julius Randle and Michael Porter Jr. playing together?

MPJ finished with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting and 4-of-6 from three, while Randle had 13 points, 3 assists and zero turnovers. We even got an early glimpse of their chemistry when Randle created a bucket for Porter.

Dëmin's night is more nuanced. He finished with 6 points and 5 assists in 18 minutes, shooting 2-of-5 — with both makes coming from three — and attempted zero free throws. So while his playmaking was encouraging, I wouldn't say one preseason game answered the question about attacking the paint yet. That's actually a very good debate for the show.

It's only preseason — but after one game, are we starting to see what this Nets team could become?
