A special episode about personal experiences, education and the role supporters can play in challenging racism in football.
George Elek speaks to:
- David McArdle, the EFL’s Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
- Paul Elliott, former Charlton Athletic & Chelsea defender, now Charlton Vice-Chairman and EDI Lead.
- Clare Buckley-Prescott, Head of Safety Operations at Stoke City
- Walsall players Roman Dixon and Tai Sodje & a pupil from Whetstone Field Primary School
This special episode supports Together Against Racism, which sees the EFL and all 72 clubs unite across two dedicated matchdays this October to challenge discrimination, support those affected and celebrate their communities.
This year’s campaign highlights the importance of reporting racism directly to clubs when it happens. Last season, 63% of live racism incidents reported directly to clubs led to individuals being identified and action being taken. Supporters can report through club reporting channels, stewards or police, without having to confront an offender themselves.
