R&D LIVE: Oilers Evolve, Jets Unravel & Kucherov’s Tampa Future Gets Messy. Plus, Ask Ray & Dregs!

Ray and Dregs dig into Edmonton’s dominant start and the significant stylistic changes under Mike Babcock, with Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Evan Bouchard leading the way as the Oilers become one of the NHL’s stingiest teams off the rush. The guys examine Winnipeg’s dramatic slide after a promising start, the pressure being placed on a young roster and whether prolonged struggles could eventually put coaching changes on the table. They also break down the Shane Wright-for-Matthew Wood trade, the increasingly messy Nikita Kucherov contract situation in Tampa Bay and Dylan Larkin stepping away from the Red Wings while awaiting a trade. In Ask Ray & Dregs Anything: Anaheim’s defensive growing pains, the NHL’s declining save percentage, the new Hometown Remix jerseys and the difference between players who shine in practice and those who elevate their game when the puck drops.
